Asveri creates paintings that on first glance appear like primitive drawings by children. However, in the witty references to children’s art, one can find on closer inspection his paintings reveal a sophisticated handling of paint and colour, imbued with a great sense of lightness and playfulness.

Since January 2014, Schweiger had accompanied and photographed nine Chinese artists for more than two years. She documented the journey in her book Chicken Are Not Naked, printed and published in Germany by Distanz. The artists she portrayed work across the fields of performance art, installation art, visual art, music, dance, theatre, and creative writing.

By using pen and ink on paper and focusing on the visual power of black and white, Chio recreates these fictitious female characters that she imagines, which is a mixture of people that she has seen in real life, in films, media and comics, bringing the work together into this exhibition is to draw attention to these vulnerable groups of HER.

Precious Cargo references a play about Khoisan woman Saartjie Baartman - who was bought under colonisation and exhibited as a “freak” around Europe. With this history as its departure point, the exhibition dismantles the objectification of “African” artists.

ZZHK Gallery is participating in Affordable Art Fair in HKCEC at Stand D05. This year, highlight of ZZHK’s group show will feature works by Lee du Ploy and Oliviero Masi, and for the first time ZZHK will show work by Chinese artist Gao Ping. The stand will also include works by more Asian and European artists.

ZZHK Gallery is pleased to present 'Tales of the Spirit World', the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong of Beijing artist Ma Wei, presenting a selection of her new works. The exhibition will be on view at the gallery from November 12 through 28. Ma Wei's paintings are about imaginary creatures. She calls them 'spirits'.

Shanghai girls posters and the advertisements were widely used for commercial purposes during the 1910s to 1930s era in Shanghai. The advertisements consisted of everything from tobacco to perfume and even health supplements.
