Hockney has over the last few years returned to his beloved Yorkshire to paint the landscapes he admired as a boy. In his time he experimented with many different techniques, including Polaroid photographs.
Many people assume him to be American. He went to California to see the sun and stayed for many years painting the blue skies and swimming pools.
"A bigger Plash" is a film which has become synonymous with Hockney. His skill however is translating the obvious into miraculous.
