Carl Moore

London based artist Carl Moore studied for his BA (Hons) in Fine Art in Painting at Winchester School of Art and for his MA in Digital Moving Image at London Metropolitan University. His work has featured in several publications including Art of England and Artists and Illustrators.

His Animals Pretending to be Other Animals series looks at the semantics of identity, which builds on his earlier series titled Animal Suicides. Although both series have complex themes they are made light-hearted by the obvious humour inherent in each piece. Carl also paints, draws and makes short films.

“My current output is inspired by the Pop Surrealists and is concerned with a merging of the ridiculous and the representational, the end result being to create a series of paintings and prints that appear unsettlingly odd, playful, quite tragic and endearing.”
